Firing squad quiz

I'm often amazed at how often an opponent will run a lone back checker into a firing squad in my outfield. Obviously, there are many considerations; however, I trend toward a preference to stay back to get hit loose in his home board rather than getting hit loose in the outfield -- that way I at least get some direct returns.

For the quiz below, I have slightly generalized Bill's scenario. In each position, Blue has the option of moving a checker from White's home board into the outfield where it is exposed to many shots. Rollouts say that in some cases a firing-squad play is right and in other cases it is not. Which is which? That's for you to sort out.

All games are unlimited (money) games.
